• Zachert Private Equity takes over mechanical engineering company
• Focus on commercial shipbuilding, marine and infrastructure as well as special systems

Rostock/Grünheide, April 1, 2025 – Successful takeover: The future of IMG Ingenieurtechnik und
Maschinenbau GmbH (IMG) in Rostock is secure. The change of ownership was officially completed
today. The new owner of IMG is Zachert IMG GmbH, a subsidiary of Zachert Private Equity (ZPE). It
is taking over IMG with the aim of structuring the company and achieving sustainable stabilization.
All parties involved have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The name IMG and the
headquarters in Rostock will be retained; Olaf Zachert is Managing Director.
Advanced discussions with strategic investors
In the future, IMG will continue to position itself as a reliable partner in the shipbuilding and marine
sectors, as well as in the infrastructure and special systems segments. Discussions are already at an
advanced stage with potential strategic investors in order to generate additional impetus and added
value for IMG. “We want to position the company more broadly and ensure stability,” says Zachert.
The 76 employees are actively involved. “The employees are the company’s know-how. Together
with the workforce, we want to shape the quasi-new beginning and give the company a long-term
perspective,” says Olaf Zachert, Managing Director of Zachert Private Equity. In the coming weeks,
the aim is to jointly develop the future course, build trust and continue the company’s rich history.
